He was born on June 5, 1960, in Gallipolis, son of Frances Loueva Weaver Kent of New Haven, and the late Rupert Ray Kent.
Louis was a member of the Mount Union Baptist Church on Carpenter Hill Road in Pomeroy. He was a talented singer and he loved music and singing.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by an infant sibling.
Louis is survived by his mother, Frances Kent of New Haven; brother, Richard (Beverly) Kent of Claremore, Okla.; two sisters, Karen (Scott) Price of Gary, Ind., and Raenell (Allan) Downing of Grove, Okla.; nephew, Matthew Price of Gary, Ind.; niece, Coria Kent of Point Pleasant, W.Va.; great niece, Jada Kent of Point Pleasant; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and many friends.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2008, at 1 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home in New Haven, with Pastor Dennis Weaver officiating. Visiting hours will be on Friday, April 11, 2008, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
