Janice was born Dec. 14, 1937, in Gallipolis, daughter of the late Cleo Chevalier and Mary Margaret (Fraley) Chevalier, who survives in Saint Paris. Janice was formerly employed by Drackett Corporation of Urbana.
Janice married William F. Stanley on Aug. 21, 1955, and he also survives in Saint Paris.
Janice was the mother of five children, four of whom survive: Keith (Sandra) Stanley of Orlando, Fla., LuAnne (Mark) Meade of Springfield, Ohio, Darrell L. (Laura) Stanley of New Bern, N. Ca., and Wayne (Debbie) Stanley of Saint Paris. She is also survived by ten grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. A stepbrother, David (Christa) Chevalier of Vermont and two brothers, Larry Chevalier of Toledo and Charles Chevalier of Murfreesboro, Tenn., also survive.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Sheryl Lynn Stanley and one stepbrother, Bill Chevalier.
A memorial funeral service will be held at 12 noon Monday, Oct. 15, 2007, in the Atkins-Shively Funeral Home, 216 S. Springfield Street, Saint Paris, Ohio, with the Reverend Rick Klos officiating. Burial will follow in Rosedale Cemetery near Rosewood, Ohio. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service Monday at the funeral home.
