Yard of Week beautifies city

Dear Editor:

On behalf of the Gallipolis Garden Club and the Gallipolis in Bloom Committee, we want to express our appreciation to everyone who participated in the “Yard of the Week” recognitions from May through August.

There were many other yards throughout the city of Gallipolis that were worthy of recognition and we would like to thank each and every person who worked so hard in planting and displaying beautiful flowers in and around their property. You have helped make this old French city of Gallipolis a beautiful showcase worthy to show visitors with pride.

We are looking forward to continuing this tradition in the coming years, and hope to extend the boundaries of the yards to be recognized outside of the city limits. There are truly some yards in Gallia County that are well-landscaped and colorful in their selections, so take a ride ... enjoy the view, and join us again next year for an even more exciting “City of Flowers.”
