Born October 19, 1947 in the Letart Falls Community of Meigs County, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Betty Coyle Roush. She attended elementary school at the old Letart Falls Elementary School and was a graduate of Southern High School.
She went on to complete her nurse's training at the Mansfield (Ohio) General Hospital. She completed her master's degree in nursing in 1980 at Southwestern University in Tucson, Arizona and her Ph.D. in nursing in 1986 at Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana.
She is survived by her husband, Richard Shiflet; an uncle, Russell Roush, Racine; and numerous cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Betty Coyle Roush and her grandparents, Walter and Edna Roush and William and Georganna Coyle.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Sunday, July 8, 2007, in the chapel at Letart Falls Cemetery with Rev. Larry Fisher officiating.
Interment will follow on the family plot. Friends may call a half-hour prior to the funeral service at the chapel. Cremeens Funeral Home, Racine, is in charge of arrangements.
