Fred “Muggs” Holcomb, 83, of Point Pleasant, died Saturday, May 19, 2007 at his home.

He was a retired laborer for International Brotherhood Labors of Huntington after 50 years and a member of Fair Haven United Methodist Church in Kanauga, Ohio.

He was born April 23, 1924 in Mason County, a son to the late Henry and Rose Ann Holcomb.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Dessie Holcomb, and one sister, Louise Stover, and brother, James Holcomb.

He is survived by three brothers, Bob Holcomb, Bill Holcomb and Frank (Jean) Holcomb, all of Point Pleasant; nieces and nephews, Charlie Pickens of Leon, Phillip (Genny) Pickens of Huntington, Michael (Sharon) Pickens of Point Pleasant, Paul (Pam) Pickens of Point Pleasant, Sharon E. (Russell) Rogers of Lancaster, Ohio, Shiela Hall of Point Pleasant and Angie (Rick) Johnson of Gallipolis, Ohio.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 22 at Deal Funeral Home in Point Pleasant with the Rev. Dan Lamphier officiating. Burial will be in Kirkland Memorial Gardens in Point Pleasant. Friends may call from 1-2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
