GALLIPOLIS - Gallia County Relay For Life officially kicked off the race to raise money and awareness in the fight against cancer by proclaiming May 1, 2007, as Paint the Town Purple Day.
The free community celebration will begin at 6 p.m. in the Gallipolis City Park where food, fun and entertainment will be provided to thank residents for their continued support of Relay For Life.
Relay For Life will take place June 1 and 2 in the Gallipolis City Park. Last year, the event raised over $90,000 to fight cancer.
