GALLIPOLIS — A Rio Grande man was arraigned on rape charges involving a child in Gallipolis Municipal Court on Tuesday.
Robert D. Angles, 43, 20 E. Lewis Ave., was arrested by the Gallia County Sheriff’s Department on Monday following a 9-1-1 call stating Angles had allegedly molested a 5-year-old girl.
No further details of the case were available at presstime.
Angles was placed on a $500,000 bond and a preliminary hearing was set for Monday, April 2 at 1 p.m.
Under Ohio Revised Code 2907.02, because the victim is under the age of 10, if Angles in convicted he could face a sentence of life in prison.
