Arlie Elden “Red” Malone, 60, of Spencer, W.Va., passed away March 24, 2007, at his residence.

He was born Aug. 11, 1946, in Logan, Ohio, a son of the late Arlie and Garnet Riffle Malone.

He was an oil rigger and a timberman.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra Smith Malone, whom he married June 8, 1990, in Stewart, Ohio; nine daughters, Rebecca (Brady) Ashburn, Barbara Davis, Terry Ashburn, Monica (William) Ashburn, Samantha Malone, Gayla Malone, Jessie Spencer, Dessie Nottingham and Shawna Malone; a sister, Linda Woodrum; his mother-in-law, Janice (Bud) Haas; his brother-in-law, Timmy (Pam) Smith; grandchildren, Bobbi, Mandy, Jesse, Levi, Dale, Tiffany, Kyle, Hayle, Jasmine, Kaden, Lexus, Gage, Melony, Jessica, Nathan, Kyla, Josh, Jacob and Hannah; two great-grandchildren, Zachariah and MacKenzie; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Joseph and Blanche Malone; a daughter, Tammy June Malone; a grandchild, Charlie Spencer; son-in-law, Terry Dale Ashburn; father-in-law, Buck Smith; and a brother, Eddie Malone.

Services are 2 p.m. today, Tuesday, March 27, 2007, in the Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home in Spencer, with the Rev. Smith Epling officiating. Burial will follow in the Hebron Cemetery, near Spencer. Friends may call at the funeral home today, two hours prior to the service.
