GALLIPOLIS — A Gallipolis man indicted by the Gallia County grand jury in October on child pornography related charges has made a plea in the Gallia County Common Pleas Court and now awaits sentencing.
Ronald L. Adrian, 54, 34 Chillicothe Road, Gallipolis, pled guilty to attempted endangering children on Feb. 15, a fifth-degree felony.
Adrian was indicted on Oct. 19 for illegal use of a minor in nudity-oriented material or performance for allegedly possessing or viewing material or a performance that shows a minor who is not his child or ward in a state of nudity.
Adrian was arrested by Gallipolis City Police after information following an investigation prompted investigators to obtain a search warrant for Adrian’s residence, where enough evidence was reportedly found to proceed with the grand jury indictment.
As part of a plea agreement, the state is recommending a sentence of two years community control; the maximum sentence is 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 or 12 months and a $2,500 fine.
Following a pre-sentencing investigation, Adrian’s sentencing is tentatively set for Friday, March 16 at 9 a.m.
Another 2006 indictment was recently resolved.
Larry J. Gillenwater, 49, who was indicted on May 19, 2006 for aggravated arson and two counts of insurance fraud, pled guilty to one count of insurance fraud on Feb. 14 and was sentenced to 24 months community control plus court costs.
The other two counts were dropped as part of the plea agreement.
