Helen Faye Ross Adams, 91, of Gallipolis, died Tuesday evening, Jan. 9, 2007, at her residence.

She was born Oct. 23, 1915, in Bladen, daughter of the late B.W. and Lucy M. “Kate” Halley Ross.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her husband, James E. Adams, whom she married Aug. 30, 1941, in Bladen, and who preceded her on Jan. 7, 1994; and by two brothers, Roy and Russell Ross.

She is survived by four children, Karen (Earl) Wonn of Crown City, Nancy (Bryce) Smith of Gallipolis, Michael (Susan) Adams of Marengo, and Lucy Jo (David) Karr of Carroll; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; a sister, Virginia (Gardner) Campbell of Warren; a half-sister, Carol S. Ross of Wellston; a half-brother, Jim Ross of Huntington, W.Va.; a sister-in-law, Eloise Ross of Gallipolis; and cousins, Bonnie Patrick and Mary Proffit, both of Gallipolis.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 13, 2007, at the Waugh-Halley-Wood Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Mount Zion Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, Jan. 12, 2007, from 6 to 8 p.m.
