GALLIPOLIS — Veterans Day activities for 2006, sponsored by the Gallia County Veterans Service Commission, will be 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 11, Veterans Service Officer Steven R. Swords said.
Activities begin with a parade down Second Avenue and end with a ceremony at the Doughboy Monument in the Gallipolis City Park.
The parade forms at Spruce Street and Second Avenue at 10:15 a.m. and proceeds down Second to the park at 10:30 a.m. The ceremony in the park begins at 11 a.m.
This year’s guest speaker is Herman W. Morton, Ohio commander of the Disabled American Veterans.
