Shelter needs your help
Dear Editor:
The Perennial Cat Shelter is appealing to the people of Gallia County and surrounding areas to provide a home for one or more of our adult cats.
For those of you who don’t know, Perennial Cat is a non-profit shelter for abandoned and homeless cats.
We are located on Ohio 325 in Thurman.
At present, we have over four dozen adult cats who desperately need a home, either inside or outside. Any cat adopted will be spayed or neutered before leaving the shelter.
Adult cats make wonderful companions for anyone, especially seniors. They don’t require much care even living indoors; just provide water, food, a litter pan and a comfy place to sleep.
We have many “lap cats” who would like nothing better than a soft lap to sleep in. In return, they will bestow upon “their human” many purrs and head rubs.
Many of our cats are suited to living outdoors and would love to have a nice warm barn to curl up in for the winter. Their only requirement would be food and water and some attention whey they ask for it. In return, they promise to provide mouse and mole protection.
The shelter is also in need of volunteers to give two hours a week to clean and take care of the cats at the shelter.
There is also a need for foster families to take care of young kittens in their home until the kittens are old enough to come to the shelter.
Please call (740) 645-7275 and leave a message for adoption, foster care or volunteer work. Someone will call you back as soon as possible.
From a dedicated volunteer,
Jackie Keatley
