Greely H. Neal, 82, of Gallipolis, died Saturday, Sept. 9, 2006, in Veterans Hospital in Chillicothe, Ohio.

He was born Sept. 13, 1923 in Mason County, a son to the late Henry and Mariah Spurlock Neal. He was a retired inspector for the Owen Illinois Plant in Owen, Ohio, and was an Army veteran, having served during World War II. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Connie Lue Neal; brothers, Gilbert, Gill, Henry Otis and Otho Neal; sisters, Florence Cessler, Garnett Maynard, Pearl Neal, Marie Neal, Mae Rossi and Helen Neal; and father and mother-in-law, Emmitt and Goldie Waugh.

He is survived by his wife, Janie Waugh Neal of Gallipolis; sons, Greely Neal Jr. of Mechanicsburg, Ohio; Richard and (Sandy) Neal of Gallipolis; daughters, Linda and Ronald Crawford of Vinton, Ohio, and Teresa and Garry Robinson of Marysville, Ohio; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held on at 1 p.m. Wednesda at the Deal Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, with Rev. Rick Towe officiating. Burial will be in the Ohio Valley Memory Gardens in Gallipolis.
