RIO GRANDE - Even though the weather was less than perfect, new and returning students still managed to have plenty of fun while moving onto campus during Welcome Weekend at the University of Rio Grande/Rio Grande Community College.

There were games, prizes, and activities including a game show, mechanical bull rides, meet the Greeks, a caricature artist, the re-opening of the Red Zone, and much more.

“Welcome Weekend is a time when we welcome everybody back to campus,” said Eric McLaughlin, student activities coordinator. “New students, returning students, residents, and commuters, we welcome them all. This is the university's official kick-off to the academic year.”

Today marks the first day of classes for the fall semester. For more information, call 245-5353 or visit www.rio.edu.
