RIO GRANDE - Representatives of a New York City production company and a Chicago advertising agency headed “down on the farm” for the filming of the newest television commercial for Bob Evans Restaurants. On March first and second the Bob Evans Farm in Rio Grande served as the location for a commercial which will air in 66 markets beginning in April.

The new commercial features actor Kevin McCorkle sitting on the steps of the historic Homestead. Other scenes from the Bob Evans Farm will also appear in the spot.

Directed by Theresa Wingert of New York City-based MacGuffin Films, the commercial will be shown across the Midwest, Mid-Atlantic, and Southeast regions of the country. “The spot will celebrate the classic Bob Evans brand, which is rooted in farm heritage while communicating the company's commitment to serving the best breakfast in town,” said Mary Cusick, Bob Evans Farms Senior Vice President of Restaurant Marketing.

The farm last served as a backdrop for the company's commercials in 1999 when the “All Roads Lead to Home” spot was shot. “The Bob Evans Farm is really at the core of who we are as a company,” said Cusick. “It speaks to our heritage, our history and the way we treat the customer like family, just the way Bob Evans did when he founded the company more than 50 years ago.”

Developed by the Bob Evans farms marketing department and advertising agency Chicago Creative partnership, the new commercial introduces McCorkle as “an engaging storyteller who is able to convey the tradition of Bob Evans Farms,' said Cusick. McCorkle has most recently had a recurring role on television's Cold Case, and has served as a guest star on such shows as 24, Alias, American Dreams, Commander in Chief, CSI: Miami, NCIS, Port Charles, the Drew Carey Show, and The X-Files.

Founder Bob Evans stopped by to observe the filming.
