Court unseals additional indictments

GALLIPOLIS - Indictments against two Bidwell-area residents were among those unsealed by Gallia County Common Pleas Court last week.

George V. Pendleton III, 44, 950 Creek Road, was indicted Nov. 28 on one count each of possession of marijuana and receiving stolen property.

According to the indictment, on Oct. 23, 2005, Pendleton allegedly was in possession of 32,144 grams of marijuana. The indictment further states that, on that date, Pendleton allegedly received, retained or disposed of a Honda Rubicon all-terrain vehicle.

Pendleton's wife, Mary, 48, was indicted on similar charges, according to court records. She was indicted on one count of complicity to possession of 32,144 grams of marijuana and receiving, retaining or disposing of a stolen Honda Rubicon ATV, according to court records.

The Pendletons were arrested on Oct. 23, 2005, after an investigation by the State Highway Patrol and the Gallia County Sheriff's Office. Both were booked into the Gallia County Jail and released on bond.
