GALLIPOLIS — A Gallia County man was sentenced in the Gallia County Court of Common Pleas on Tuesday after pleading guilty to two counts of breaking and entering.

Jamin D. Johnson, 26, Crown City was sentenced to a total of 18 months of imprisonment in two separate 2011 common pleas cases.

In his first case, Johnson pleaded guilty to one count of breaking and entering on May 11, 2011, after he broke into Norris Northup Dodge, located on Upper River Road in Gallipolis, on Jan. 10, 2011.

In his second case, Johnson also pleaded guilty to one count of breaking and entering after he was found on April 19 in the basement of Brittany’s Fashions, 366 Second Ave., Gallipolis, by officers with the Gallipolis Police Department. Reportedly, Johnson had been using a hacksaw to remove a large copper pipe — a portion of the building’s sewer line.

On Tuesday, Johnson was sentenced to nine months of imprisonment in his first case and nine months of imprisonment in his second case, sentences ordered to be served consecutively for a total of 18 months.

Johnson was further ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $625 to Norris Northup Dodge and $4,500 to the victim in his second case.

Johnson may also be subject to a period of up to three years of post-release control and was given credit for approximately 28 days served as of May 12.
