The Gallia County Board of Commissioners issued a proclamation in somber remembrance of the Civil War. April 2011 marks the sesquentential anniversary of the Civil war and members of the Cadot-Blessing Camp #126 of the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War were on hand to accept the proclamation in recognition of their ancestors’ sacrifices. Cadot-Blessing Camp #126 of the Sons of Unions Veterans were represented by David Carter, Commander Jim Oiler, David North and Henry Myers. Individuals further wishing to honor the Civil War are encouraged to attend the Federal Army Homecoming that will be held April 30 and May 1 at Gallipolis City Park.
