He was born April 8, 1940, in Gallia County, the son of the late Edward D. and Gladys M. Simmons Myers. Carl was married to Iva Clonch Myers and she survives him. He was retired from the Ohio River Company. Carl liked to play cards, hunting, working on cars and trading them.
Surviving are his wife, Iva Myers of Gallipolis; four children, Teresa (John) Glover, Mary (Rick) Greene, Carl (Faye) Myers, all of Bidwell, and Robert “Yogi” (Leslie) Myers of Richmond, Virginia; 10 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; a sister, Alma Parker of Newbury, Ohio; a brother, Eugene (Brenda) Myers of Gallipolis; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Corinia Wooten, and two sisters, Frances Myers Blakeman and Karen Lee Myers, in infancy.
Graveside services will be at 4 p.m., Saturday, April 9, 2011, at Campaign Cemetery with Rev. Ernest Cook officiating. Friends may call from 2:30-3:30 p.m. at Willis Funeral Home prior to the graveside service.
Pallbearers will be John Kasee, Brad Kasee, Gerald Hughes, Jonathon Rutherford, Tracy Singleton and Rick Greene.
