He was born July 13, 1932 in Gallipolis Ferry, a son of the late William I. Henry and Violet Meaige Lee.
Willie was a 1951 graduate of Point Pleasant High School, and served in the U. S. Navy from 1952-1956. He retired from Century Aluminum with 36 and a half years service.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step mother, Betty Mathews Henry.
Willie is survived by his wife, Sheila Lewis Henry, whom he married Sept. 18, 1955; two sons and daughters-in-law, Kim and Tammy Henry of Newton Grove, N.C., and Barry and Lisa Henry of Gallipolis Ferry; grandchildren, special grandson, Craig and Heather Henry of Watertown, Conn., Ashley and Adam Britt of Mt. Olive, N.C., Megan Henry of Wilmington, N.C., and Brandan Henry and Kaitlyn Henry of Gallipolis Ferry; great grandchildren, Ian Riley Henry of Watertown, Conn., and Autumn Paige Britt of Mt. Olive, N.C. He also is survived by brothers, Brookie Henry, Jackie and Joyce Lee, Charles and Jacque Lee, all of Point Pleasant, Rolfe and Sharon Lee of Henderson, Allen and Beverly Lee, and Doug and Vallery Henry of Gallipolis Ferry; sisters, Joy Sturgeon, Mary and Jim Spencer, Judy ‘Teenie’ and David Arrington, and Johanna and Eddie Huddleston, all of Gallipolis Ferry.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 13, at the Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant with Rev. William ‘Bud’ Hatfield and Rev. Sanders Rulen officiating. Burial will follow in the Kirkland Memorial Gardens in Point Pleasant with military graveside services being conducted by U.S. Navy Honor Guard and American Legion Post No. 23 of Point Pleasant. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. till 1 p.m., Thursday, at the funeral home.
