Donald D. Newell, 73, Bidwell, passed away Monday, November 29, 2010, at Riverside Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. He was born January 1, 1937, in Mason County, W.Va., son of the late Roy and Freda Newell. Donald was a member of the Plumbers and Pipe Fitters Union, Local #521 for more than fifty years, and a member of the White Oak Baptist Church, Bidwell. In his spare time, he enjoyed rebuilding and repairing automobiles.

Donald is survived by his wife, Linda Eggleton Newell; son, Scott (Jodi) Newell, of Gallipolis; daughter, Kristy Newell, of Bidwell; step-son, Nakuma Roberts, of Bidwell; grandchildren, Aubrey Newell, of Gallipolis; Cierra and Tyler Roberts, of Bidwell; brother, Robert (Louise) Newell, of St. Petersburg, Fla.; sisters, Betty (Frank) Miller, and Marie Plants, both of Pt.Pleasant, W.Va., and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by brothers Roy Jr. and Nelson Newell.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, December 3, 2010, at the White Oak Baptist Church, 1555 Nibert Rd., Gallipolis, Ohio 45631, with Pastor Carl Ward officiating. Burial will follow in the Suncrest Cemetery, Pt. Pleasant, W.Va. Friends and family may call at the McCoy- Moore funeral home, Vinton, from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, December 2.
