Lucille was employed by the University of Rio Grande in the Food Service Department prior to her employment at the Gallipolis Developmental Center from where she retired in 1980 following twenty-eight years service. She was a member of the Nebo Congregational Church, a member of the former Centerville OES Morning Star Lodge 444 and now Gallipolis OES Chapter 283. She was also a Gallia County Senior Resource Center volunteer for many years and also a volunteer at Holzer Medical Center.
She is survived by three children, Paul (Geraldine) Rees, Rio Grande, Ohio; Roger (Lynn) Rees, Columbus, Ohio and Shirley (Len) Silvers, Patriot, Ohio; eleven grandchildren, Tom (Joyce) Rees, Terry (Patricia) Rees, Greg (Cathy) Rees, Kathy (Terry) Carter, Sherry (Joe) Merry, Robin Merry, Carla (Richard) Stephenson, Angie (Mark) Neal, Timothy (Deanna) Rees, Daniel (Laura) Rees and Rick (Pam) Rees; twelve great-grandchildren, Justin, Jacob, Jessica, Nichole, Kimberly, Timothy, Daniel, Lillian, Abby, Lane, Xenia and Nathaniel; one brother and one sister, Robert Robinson, Springfield, Ohio, and Sylvia Hammond, Grove City, Ohio. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one brother.
Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, October 27, 2010, at the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, 420 First Ave., Gallipolis, Ohio with Pastor Kathryn Loxley officiating. Burial will follow in the Nebo Cemetery.
Friends may call from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on Wednesday at the Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Rick Silvers, Terry, Dan, Tom, Tim and Greg Rees.
