Lighting up the park

Adam Mount, of Mount’s Tree Service of Bidwell, loads lighted balls into his bucket Saturday morning before he hangs them in the trees at Gallipolis City Park. A few volunteers showed up on a chilly Saturday morning to wire the lighted Christmas displays into spheres so that the tree service workers, who also donated their time, could hang the lights in preparation for the annual Gallipolis City Park lighting ceremony Nov. 25. Festivities will begin at 5:30 p.m., but the actual lighting ceremony will be at 7 p.m.
