CENTENARY, Ohio — Rock Hill won each of the four quarters by a single possession, which allowed the guests to hold on for a 56-49 victory over the Gallia Academy girls basketball team Thursday night an Ohio Valley Conference matchup in Gallia County.
The host Blue Angels (2-10, 2-7 OVC) dropped their third straight decision while also being swept by the Redwomen (8-5, 5-4). RHHS also claimed a 52-44 decision in Pedro back on December 7.
Rock Hill led 11-10 after eight minutes, but Kaci Russell scored 11 points for the guests during a 15-12 run that led to a 26-22 halftime advantage. The Redwomen followed with a 16-15 third period run for a 42-37 edge, then closed regulation on a 14-12 spurt to wrap up the three-possession outcome.
Jordan Walker led GAHS with 13 points, followed by Hunter Copley with 12 points and Adrienne Jenkins with 10 markers. Jenelle Stevens and Jalea Caldwell respectively added eight and six points for the hosts, who went 2-of-4 at the free throw line for 50 percent.
Russell finished the night with a double-double effort of 21 points and 10 rebounds, followed by Anna Darby with 14 points and Jill Hairston with seven markers. Sami Dillon was next with six points, while Abbi Kline and Taylor Hall each contributed four markers. RHHS was 10-of-25 at the charity stripe for 40 percent.
