PROCTORVILLE, Ohio — The Gallia Academy wrestling team took top honors on Saturday during the Ohio Valley Dual Pool Wrestling tournament at Fairland High School in Lawrence County.
The Blue Devils posted a team-total 167 points to take first place, followed by Ashland (56) in second and the hosting Dragons (53) took third. Wahama finished sixth (38), while Eastern — which took part in its first varsity wrestling match in school history — took the eighth spot (21).
Caleb Greenlee and Jason Stroud placed in first and third respectively for Gallia Academy in the 106 weight class. Kyle Greenlee finished at the top of the standings in the 113 weight class. Jared Stephens, Morgan Stanley and Isiah Holley took top honors in the 120, 126 and 132 classes respectively.
Kaden Ehman took third place in the 138 class for the Blue and White, while Kaleb Crisenberry, Boo Pullins and Mathew Christian finished at the top of the 145, 152 and 160 weight classes respectively. Hunter Jacks finished second in the 170 weight class for the Blue Devils and Nick Hufford took third place.
Ryan Terry placed first in the 182 weight class, while Justin Reynolds and Anthony Sipple finished second in the 195 and 220 weight classes respectively. Hunter Terry finished fourth in the 285 weight class for the Blue and White.
Wahama’s Tracy Peters took third place in the 113 weight class. Dalton Kerns placed second in the 132 weight class, while Ethan Herdman and Bradley Powell placed third and second respectively in the 145 and 152 weight classes. Richard Short placed fourth in the 195 weight class for the Red and White.
Eastern’s Chase Williams finished third in the 285 weight class.
