GALLIPOLIS — After 12 years serving Gallia County’s residents and visitors as the executive director of the Gallia County Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB), Bob Hood, pictured right, worked his last day in that capacity Tuesday, as he prepares to start serving Gallia County residents in an entirely different way … as a full-time Gallia County 9-1-1 dispatcher. A steady stream of visitors trickled in Tuesday afternoon to wish Hood the best and to honor his years of dedication to Gallia County tourism. The CVB Board indicates they have accepted resumés and will soon name a new executive director — but for now, board members in attendance Tuesday agreed that no matter who follows Hood, he or she will have some mighty big shoes to fill. The CVB staff served cake Tuesday in Hood’s honor after the Gallipolis Daily Tribune sat down with him for an interview. Please see Thursday’s edition of the Gallipolis Daily Tribune for the full article on Hood’s accomplishments at the CVB, as well as sentiments about his time there.
