Now that election is behind us, some signs of normal life are beginning to be seen, including non-political television commercials. Locally, it’s the signs that are no longer there that have many of us giving thanks. During election season in battleground Ohio, political yard signs typically litter every corner and intersection for months leading up to Election Day. Fortunately, many candidates have already begun the clean-up effort, as many of Gallia County’s roads and intersections were clean and sign-free on Thursday. State Rep. Ryan Smith of the 93rd House District was among those who already began decluttering the county. He said Thursday that he and his team were traveling the four counties he serves to retrieve the signs. Gallipolis Daily Tribune staffers were pleasantly surprised that it required a fairly lengthy drive from the office to locate this cluttered intersection in the Rodney area so soon after election. The intersection of Ohio 7 and Ohio 141, within Gallipolis city limits, was already clean.
