The Gallia County Youth Horse Committee held a Spring Horse Clinic on April 20 for the upcoming 2013 Gallia County Junior Fair. A total of 44 4-H members attended the clinic along with many parents and volunteers. The topics covered were showmanship, horsemanship, walk trot/novice class, western pleasure, stock horse, contest, English and trail. The clinics were presented by local Gallia County horse volunteers. Clinicians were Nancy Vanco, Janice Rosier, Dan Beam, Kaci Bryant, Tiffany Shaffer and Bobbie Hudson. Members were able to bring their horses to gain hands-on experience or watch from the side, whichever worked best for their learning. Members were also able to practice the horse skill-a-thon during the clinic. Prizes were awarded to members after each session from the horse committee. The clinic was held at the Happy Trails Boarding Stables owned by Bart and Sherri Repass.
