Bossard Memorial Library has been busy recently providing programming for area kids and families, including the Drake Science Center’s Planetarium, which was enjoyed by 235 library patrons. Bossard leadership was also pleased to have a turnout of about 200 at last weekend’s StoryWalk event, brought to the community by Bossard Library, O.O. McIntyre Park, and the Friends of Bossard Library. StoryWalk attendees were able to read a story posted along a seven-tenths mile trail, pictured above. Participants were treated to a hot dog lunch, sponsored by the Friends of Bossard Library. Bossard also provided games and face painting by Jody Rife, pictured right.
“The StoryWalk event was a huge success with 200 attendees,” said Bossard Library Executive Director Debbie Saunders. “The weather was perfect for families to spend time outside together at the beautiful O.O. McIntyre Park, where they read the story entitled ‘The Circus Ship’ as they walked the trail. Bossard Library will also soon be announcing plans for the 2013 Summer Reading Program, themed “Dig into Reading!”
