RIO GRANDE — Buckeye Hills Career Center (BHCC) will be featuring live entertainment at their annual EXPO on April 20 and April 21 from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.

George McCoy, Danny Bonecutter, Vernon Hendricks and Rachel Jackson-Hendricks, a local group known as Appalachian Divide, will perform at noon Saturday.

Paul “Bub” Williams, a local favorite, will perform at 2 p.m. on Saturday. In association with Black Shirt Entertainment, owned and operated by his sister Paula Williams-Wray, Paul has been featured at the Ariel Theater numerous times. He has also opened for Emerson Drive, Jimmy Wayne, Adam D. Tucker and Phil Dirt and the Dozers.

At 3 p.m. Saturday is Open Rail — a fresh, new bluegrass band based in Gallipolis Ohio. In 2010 the band was selected to be the historical Ariel Ann Carson Dater Performing Arts Center’s home band. Hosting shows at the theater, and performing all over the country has made the band a favorite of anyone that hears them play their brand of Bluegrass. Perry Cardwell plays upright bass, Don Titus plays banjo, Roger Pup Harrison — lead vocals and guitarist, John Cardwell — vocals and mandolin, Brian Ison — vocals and guitar.

On Sunday, the Lonesome Midnight Cowboys will be on stage at 2 p.m. They are a high energy band dedicated to playing and preserving a number of styles of American music, as well as embracing and incorporating current genres — the LMC give both the new and the old “The Cowboy Touch.” They have played for the Wheeling Jamboree a number of times and and took fourth place in the String Band Competition at the 2012 Bluegrass Along the Harpeth Bluegrass Festival in Franklin, TN.

12 p.m. — Jeff Seitz (local gospel singer)

1 p.m. — Jon Hensler (local gospel singer)

2 p.m. — Lonesome Midnight Cowboys

4 p.m. — Shari Lambert – 2012 Buckeye Idol

The EXPO will be held each day from noon until 5 p.m. on the Buckeye Hills campus. Many activities are planned, including business/industry exhibits, vendor display of services, a craft show, a motorcycle show on Saturday, a classic car show on Sunday, green house sales, lawn and garden equipment demonstrations, health care checks, games for children, child care services, local music each day and food sales including sit-down dinners. Numerous prizes will be given away daily.

New this year on Sunday:

“Running Through the Hills at Buckeye Hills” — a 5K walk/run and a 10K run. Participants will receive a T-shirt and a ribbon. Register at tristateracer.com.

In addition, secondary and post-secondary career-technical programs can be visited. Career center staff will be available to answer questions and provide program demonstrations.

The student-built modular home will be on display, scheduled to be auctioned on May 4.
