CROWN CITY — Names have been released by the Gallia County Sheriff’s Office following a fatal shooting that occurred Thursday evening near Crown City.
According to Sheriff Joe Browning, Charles T. Addis, age 18, was allegedly fatally shot by Bruce Hively, 56, about 6:15 p.m. Thursday near the intersection of Hannan Trace Road and Elliott Road in Crown City. Addis, a student at Buckeye Hills Career Center, has a listed address on Hannan Trace Road while Hively resides on Elliott Road. No word yet on a motive for the shooting.
Hively was taken into custody following the incident. He faces likely charges of Aggravated Murder and Tampering with Evidence pending consultation with the Gallia County Prosecutor.
The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) is assisting with the investigation.
