GALLIA COUNTY — As a part of their duties to the county’s citizens in an emergency situation, the Gallia County Emergency Operations’ Center (EOC) has been keeping a finger on the pulse of the fuel situation in the county.
Following the Friday-evening power outage, drivers throughout the area have been lining up at those few gas stations in the area that still have electricity, causing shortages of much-needed gasoline and diesel.
According to information gathered by the EOC — an organization comprised of representatives of local emergency organizations — while many of the gas stations in the county were without fuel on Monday afternoon, shipments were expected as early as Monday evening at many locations.
While information about all gas stations in the county was unavailable, the EOC was reporting, on Monday, that gas was unavailable at the following locations:
Speedway of Jackson Pike; Go Mart of Gallipolis; Marathon of Jackson Pike and Brown’s Market on Ohio 160.
Speedway on Ohio 7 North was out of gasoline, but was selling diesel.
The EOC was reporting that the following locations had gasoline as of Monday evening:
Par Mar of Vine Street in Gallipolis; Robbie’s BP on Vine Street in Gallipolis; Whittington BP on Upper River Road; Sanders’ Sunoco of Second Avenue in Gallipolis and the Sunoco station located on Ohio 7 North just past the intersection of U.S. 35.
The Mercerville Convenience Store was reportedly low on fuel on Monday.
According to the EOC, those stations expecting shipments of fuel are:
Par Mar of Vine Street; the Mercerville Convenience Store; Marathon of Jackson Pike; Go Mart of Gallipolis; Bodimer’s of Jackson Pike and Speedway of Jackson Pike.
The following locations were without power on Monday:
Bodimer’s of Jackson Pike; the Korner in Bidwell; Par Mar of Vinton and Par Mar of Centenary.
