This weekend well over 1,000 motorcycles descended upon Pomeroy, Ohio for the biggest Meigs County Memorial Day Bike Run ever. Several riders from Mason County participated and helped organize the event which nearly doubled Pomeroy’s population in a matter of hours, turning it into a mini-Sturgis. There were so many bikes it took nearly a half hour from the time the first bike left the parking lot to begin the run, to the time the last bike departed. Pictured are scenes from Main Street in Pomeroy which was closed to traffic to allow more room for more bikes which also filled the Pomeroy Parking Lot and Court Street. There were food vendors, bike games and entertainment in Pomeroy after bikers returned from the run - making it one of the area’s biggest festivals. Proceeds from the event are used to buy Christmas presents for local children in need.
