The 200 block of Third Ave. was closed to traffic for a while Thursday to allow for the safe demolition of an old building that has stood on the street for several decades. The former appliance store was razed Thursday at the direction of the property owner. According to City Manager Randy Finney, the building was beyond repair, and the property owner opted to clear the lot. There’s no word yet on whether there are plans for a new structure at the site.
