Katheryn Virginia Jones, 93, Gallipolis, Ohio, passed away Sunday, December 16, 2012. Born October 20, 1919, to the late Oscar and Cora Dyer in Worthington, Ohio, she married Charles K. Jones November 23, 1940, who preceded her in death in 1978. She retired from The University of Rio Grande where she worked from 1952-1985 in the food service department. Katheryn was the first of her family to graduate high school and graduated Salutatorian of her class. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church, Rio Grande, Ohio.

Katheryn is survived by daughter, Virginia “Susie” Martin; son, Charles K. (Mary Jo) Jones; grandchildren, Suzanne (Bob) Jones, Todd (Jennifer) Jones and Clayton (Amy) Jones; great-grandchildren, Michael, Louis, Kent, Christopher and Jessica Jones; sister, Mary Pelfrey, Vinton, Ohio; and brothers, Richard Dyer, Worthington, Ohio, and William H. Dyer, Columbiana, Ohio.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by son-in-law, Roger Martin; grandson, James Andrew Martin; sister, Clara Adair; and brother, Walter J. Dyer

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, December 19, 2012, at Trinity Baptist Church, Rio Grande, Ohio, with Rev. Marc Sarrett officiating.

Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Rio Grande, Ohio.

Friends may call at McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Vinton, Ohio, on Tuesday, December 18, 2012 from 6-8 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Todd Jones, Clay Jones, Bob Jones, Langdon Dyer, Bob Overmoyer and John Pelfrey.
