Trimble Tomcats (5-1, 3-1) at Eastern Eagles (4-2, 4-1)

Last Week: Trimble 49-0 win vs. Waterford; Eastern 48-20 win at Belpre.

Last Meeting: 2011, Trimble won 49-0 at Trimble.

Current head-to-head streak: Trimble has won 12 straight including 2001 playoffs.

Notes: Both of these TVC Hocking teams have been rolling of late. Trimble has won four straight games with an average margin of victory of 51.25, while Eastern has won three games in a row with an average margin of victory of 38.3 Trimble defeated Eastern by an average margin of 30.1 since 2001. The 2000 season was the last time the Eagles were victorious over Trimble. The Tomcats averaged 7.15 yards per carry last week against Waterford while the Eagles averaged 8.9 yards per carry in their week four game against Waterford. Trimble has shutout three straight opponents. The Eagles have not allowed a score in the first three quarters of their previous two games. Both teams have wins over Miller, South Gallia and Waterford this season, while both teams fell to Wahama. Eastern is 2-1 at home this season, while THS is 3-0 on the road. Portsmouth Trojans (1-5, 0-1) at Gallia Academy Blue Devils (4-2, 1-0)

Last Week: Portsmouth lost 34-13 vs. Logan; Gallia Academy 20-7 win vs. Chillicothe.

Notes: Two teams headed in opposite directions square off Friday in a Week 7 SEOAL matchup at Memorial Field. The host Blue Devils bring a three-game winning streak into Homecoming this weekend, while the Trojans have dropped four straight. GAHS currently sits fifth in the Division III, Region 12 playoff ratings — and a win would only enhance their position for the postseason. The Blue Devils — who have outscored opponents by a 195-101 overall margin — would also remain atop the SEOAL standings with a victory. GAHS has allowed 14 points or less in its last four outings. The Trojans are being outscored 119-233 this fall and have also allowed at least 34 points in all five of their losses. Portsmouth’s lone win came in Week 2 at Portsmouth West by a 21-18 count. PHS is also 1-3 on the road, while the Blue Devils are 2-1 at Memorial Field.

Meigs Marauders (1-5, 0-1) at Vinton County Vikings (1-5, 0-1)

Last Week: Meigs lost 54-8 at Nelsonville-York; Vinton County 13-6 loss vs. Alexander.

Last Meeting: 2011, Meigs won 30-0 at Meigs.

Notes: Both TVC Ohio teams come in on multiple game losing streaks; looking for their first league win of the year. Meigs has lost three straight games by an average margin of 37.7, while the Vikings have lost two in a row by an average margin 17.5 points. VCHS holds a 6-4 advantage over Meigs in the last 10 seasons. Both teams come in claiming one win on the season, both were against an Ohio Valley Conference team. Both Vinton County and Meigs have finished under .500 in the same season just two times in the last 10 years.

River Valley Raiders (1-5, 0-1) at Coal Grove Hornets (2-3, 1-0)

Last Week: River Valley 54-27 loss vs. Chesapeake; Coal Grove 62-7 win vs. Rock Hill.

Notes: No team in the Ohio Valley Conference has a winning record so far this season, Fairland has the best record at 3-3. The last time RVHS defeated Coal Grove was 2003, when the Raiders won 42-6 in Cheshire. 2002 is the last time RVHS won in Coal Grove. River Valley will be looking for it’s first win since week one. The Raiders have given up 45.6 points per game over the last five weeks. The Hornets snapped a three game skid last week with the win over Rock Hill. Coal Grove is 1-1 at home this season, River Valley is 1-2 on the road. The combined record of the teams that CGHS has beaten is 1-11. Meigs is the only common opponent between the teams so far this year. Coal Grove defeated the Marauders 24-8, while RVHS fell to Meigs 48-18.

Miller Falcons (1-5, 1-3) at Southern Tornadoes (1-5, 1-3)

Last Week: Miller 56-14 loss at Fairfield Christian Academy; Southern 35-7 loss at Wahama.

Last Meeting: 2011, Southern won 20-12 at Miller.

Current head-to-head streak: Southern has won 1 straight.

SHS Offense Last Game: 216 rushing yards, 72 passing yards.

Notes: Both teams will be looking for their second TVC Hocking win of the season. Southern held Wahama to its second lowest score of the year, a week ago. Southern averaged just under two yards a carry last week, while Miller averaged 3.2 yards per carry. The Falcons have been outscored 268-72 this season, while Southern has been outscored 133-74. Over the past 10 seasons Miller has outscored the Tornadoes 227-190. The Falcons went 6-4 against SHS in this time. The Tornadoes have not defeated MHS at Roger Lee Adams Memorial Field since 2008. Southern is 1-2 at home this season, meanwhile Miller is 1-2 on the road. This is Southern’s homecoming game.

South Gallia Rebels (0-6, 0-5) at Belpre Golden Eagles (1-5, 1-3)

Last Week: South Gallia 56-0 loss at Federal Hocking; Belpre 48-20 loss vs. Eastern.

Last Meeting: 2011, South Gallia won 62-7 at South Gallia.

Current head-to-head streak: South Gallia has won 2 straight.

SGHS Offense Last Week: 121 rushing yards, 0 passing yards.

BHS Offense Last Game: N/A rushing yards, N/Apassing yards.

SGHS Offensive Leaders Last Week: RB Ethan Spurlock (19-129).

Notes:Both teams will be looking to stop losing skids. The Rebels will be looking for their first win of the season, while Belpre hasn’t won since it’s TVC Hocking opener against Southern in week three. Both teams struggled to contain the Eastern offense. Belpre gave up 488 total yards to the Eagles last week, while SGHS surrendered 533 yards to EHS in Week five. Belpre Running back Manny Tullis has given defenses headaches all year and last week was no different, as he found the end zone three times in the fourth quarter. Two of Tullis’ touchdown runs were over 30 yards. Belpre is 1-3 at home this year, while South Gallia is 0-3 on the road.
