Viola J. Blazer, age 56, of Gallipolis, died Sunday, October 14, 2012, at Holzer Medical Center. Born April 26, 1956, in Jackson, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Vaile E. Ireland and Juanita Harrison Ireland of Gallipolis. In addition to her father, she is preceded by a brother, Roger Ireland.
Viola was a loving caregiver and a member of Addison Freewill Baptist Church.
She is survived by her mother, Juanita Harrison Ireland of Gallipolis; husband, Kenneth R. Blazer whom she married on December 7, 1985, in Gallipolis; two sons, Kenneth (Megan) Blazer, Jr. of Crown City, and Kevin (Monica) Blazer of Pt. Pleasant, W.Va.; eight brothers and sisters, John (Viola) Ireland of Springfield, Ohio, Ruby Mercer of Springfield, Bryant (Debbie) Ireland of London, Ohio, Marie Pierce of Columbus, Earl (Teresa) Ireland of Gallipolis, David (Teresa) Ireland of London, Cathy (Harold) Frisby of Wellston, and Lisa (Tom) Kemp of Vinton.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, October 18, 2012, at Addison Freewill Baptist Church with Pastor Rick Barcus officiating. Friends may call at the Waugh-Halley-Wood Funeral Home on Wednesday from 6-9 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the funeral home to help with Viola’s funeral expenses.
