Dear Editor,

Regarding a letter you received saying the members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day-Saints (slang names, “Mormon and LDS”) believe their church leader is a living prophet of God; and his or her question of how that would effect Mitt Romney if he were elected.

The person was correct, President Thomas S. Monson (the president of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints) is an actual prophet of God. The person then asked what Romney would do if elected. However, I don’t believe that was the real question. I believe the real question was what would the prophet say if Romney were President.

God has consistently told his prophets (from the prophet Joseph Smith to President Monson) that:

1. We are to defend the freedoms of every individual in this country with all the energy we would to defend our own freedoms.

2. Church and state are to be separate. Period!

3. We are to love God with all our hearts and our neighbors as ourselves.

Hence, the Lord has never given a commandment that wasn’t in the best interest of anyone who will listen. So I would hope President Romney would pay very close attention to everything God has to say to all his children through His prophet.

If I have not fully answered any questions, please write me and I will do my best to answer them.
