GALLIA COUNTY — As part of the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) District 9’s Planning and Engineering Department and working in conjunction with the Gallia County Engineer’s Office, the district’s environmental office is seeking public input on the following proposed bridge projects.
Gallia County, Township Road 766 — It is proposed to replace a bridge on Township Road 766 over Sand Fork in Walnut Township of Gallia County. The existing bridge is a steel beam simple span with a timber plank deck, and it will be replaced with a similar type of bridge.
Gallia County –Township Road 752-0.29 — It is proposed to replace a bridge over Symmes Creek on Township Road 752 in Walnut Township of Gallia County. The existing bridge is a steel pony truss simple span with a corrugated steel plate deck, and it will be replaced with a similar type of bridge.
Gallia County –County Road 121 — It is proposed to replace a bridge over Robinson Run on County Road 121 in Morgan Township of Gallia County. The existing bridge is a steel beam simple span with a concrete deck, and it will be replaced with a similar type of bridge.
ODOT reports that no new right-of-way will be required for any of these projects, and no homes or businesses will be removed as a result of the proposed work. Some small trees and bushes will be removed; however, none of the trees have the habitat for the federally endangered Indiana Bat.
