GALLIPOLIS - McDonald's lovers in Gallipolis will have to find another way to satisfy their cravings for awhile starting this Saturday.
The McDonald's located on 1715 Eastern Ave. isn't just getting a make-over.
The current building, which has been at that location since Oct. 18, 1978, will be demolished and a new building erected in its place, management at the local restaurant said.
Equipped with a two lane drive-through and other state of the art amenities, the new building will sit about 3-1/2 feet higher than the current structure due to its location in a floodplain.
Unfortunately for parents, the new site will not have a playground when the restaurant reopens.
The tentative date for re-opening is scheduled for Oct. 12.
