SYRACUSE — The July Fourth celebration turned tragic on Wednesday evening when a man died following an accident on the Ohio River near Syracuse, Ohio, in Meigs County.
According to Meigs County Sheriff Robert Beegle, the man fell from the Jet Ski he was operating and was struck by a boat. Emergency personnel were called to the scene, but the man reportedly died at Holzer Medical Center.
The name and age of the man killed have not yet been released.
The West Virginia Department of Natural Resources Law Enforcement Division said that no additional information was available on Thursday afternoon.
