Guilty pleas resolve cases in Gallia Co.
GALLIPOLIS — Several cases recently addressed in Gallia County Common Pleas Court have been resolved after defendants entered pleas of guilty.
Cases recently resolved include:
• Timothy Pheils, 27, Jackson, was sentenced to two 11-month terms in the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction after he pled guilty to two counts of deception to obtain a dangerous drug regarding Percocet and Vicodin. The prison sentences are to run concurrent with one another.
He was further ordered to pay costs of the prosecution for judgment rendered.
• Jason B. Holcomb, 26, 727 Fourth Ave., Apartment 111, Gallipolis, was sentenced to 17 months in prison for attempted escape after he pled guilty to community control violations.
Violations include testing positive for illegal drugs, failure to pay court costs and supervisory fees and failure to successfully complete the Spectrum program.
• Christopher D. Watson, 48, 105 Manor Lane, Crown City, was sentenced to 24 months of community control after he pled guilty to attempted felonious assault, a lesser charge than felonious assault for which he was initially charged for hitting and kicking a female victim, causing injuries significant enough to require medical treatment.
He was further ordered to perform 500 hours of community service with all but 60 hours stayed, attend anger management at FACTS and successfully complete a treatment program, pay medical expenses for the victim, have no contact with the victim, register with Ohio Employment Services and pay costs of the prosecution for judgment rendered.
• Paul R. Qualls, Sr., 57, 346 Vale Road, Bidwell, was sentenced to 24 months of community control after he pled guilty to one count possession of drugs.
He was further ordered to perform 500 hours of community service with all but 40 hours stayed, an evaluation by Spectrum Outreach Services, register with Ohio Employment Services, forfeit $1,900 to the Gallia County Law Enforcement Trust Fund and pay costs of the prosecution for judgment rendered.
• Jennifer Carr, 27, 114 Hubbard Ave., Gallipolis, was sentenced to 24 months of community control after she pled guilty to one count possession of drugs regarding approximately one gram of cocaine.
She was further ordered to perform 500 hours of community control with all but 40 hours stayed, an evaluation by Spectrum Outreach Services, obtain her GED, six months suspended operator’s license, and pay costs of the prosecution for judgment rendered.
