The crowning jewel of the weekend’s Bob Evans Farm Festival didn’t take place on the farm itself, but rather from an adjacent field next to the University of Rio Grande’s Evan Davis soccer field. The 6th Annual Rockets Over Rio fireworks display wowed hundreds of visitors from all over the United States who took advantage of the camping facilities also adjacent to the farm. The fireworks followed the men’s soccer game which URG handily won 12-0 over the University of Pikeville. The display itself was breathtaking, with unexpected pyrotechnics happening on the ground, as well as in the sky. The fireworks show was coordinated by Legendary Entertainment of Commercial Point, Ohio. Rio Grande Mayor Matt Easter took the lead role in organizing the event.
