GALLIPOLIS — Possession of drugs, felony DUI, and passing bad checks are among charges recently issued in Gallia County Common Pleas Court.
Indictments recently unsealed include:
• William Totten, 47, Columbus, has been charged with one count possession of drugs for allegedly obtaining, using, or possessing six grams of cocaine on or about May 22. A forfeiture charge was added to his indictment for $3,983 cash and a 1998 Cadillac DeVille to be forfeited to the Gallia County Sheriff’s Office.
Totten pled not guilty to the charge and was released on his own recognizance under a $10,000 bond with an additional bond set at $1,000 ten percent secured.
His jury trial is scheduled for Nov. 17 at 9 a.m.
• Douglas K. Bloomer, 46, 8538 Ohio 160, Bidwell, has been charged with one count felony DUI for allegedly operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of drugs or abuse on or about April 3, with Bloomer having been previously convicted of a felony DUI offense in the Circuit Court of Monongalia County, W.Va., in 2004.
Bloomer pled not guilty to the charge and was released on his own recognizance under a $15,000 bond with an additional bond set at $1,000 ten percent secured.
His jury trial is scheduled for Nov. 2 at 9 a.m.
• James H. Ervin, Jr., 42, Jackson, has been charged with one count passing bad checks for allegedly issuing a check in the amount of $576.45, payable to Cremeans Concrete when the said Ervin knew that it would be dishonored.
He pled not guilty to the charge and was released on his own recognizance under a $5,000 bond with an additional bond set at $1,000 ten percent secured.
His jury trial is scheduled for Nov. 3 at 9 a.m.
• Leslie D. Wyatt, 22, Wellston, has been charged with one count possession of drugs for allegedly obtaining, possessing, or using half of an 80-milligram OxyContin pill on or about April 4.
Wyatt pled not guilty to the charge and was released on a $5,000 own recognizance bond with an additional bond set at $1,000 ten percent secured.
Wyatt’s jury trial is scheduled for Nov. 2 at 9 a.m.
Cases recently resolved include:
• Robert Shane Masters, 19, 1930 Chestnut Ave., Gallipolis, was sentenced to serve seven years in prison after a jury found him guilty of one count burglary.
He was further ordered to pay $2,000 restitution to Eugene Canaday and costs of the prosecution for judgment rendered.
Following the sentencing, Masters indicated that he would be appealing the ruling and he was released on an appeal bond of $20,000 ten percent secured.
• Steve D. George, 37, 12126 Ohio 160, Vinton, was sentenced to 24 months of community control after he pled guilty to one count misuse of a credit card.
He was further ordered to perform 500 hours of community service with all but 40 hours stayed, an evaluation by Spectrum Outreach Services, register with Ohio Employment Services and pay costs of the prosecution for judgment rendered.
