Charles Harold Edmiston, 93, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, October 12, 2012, surrounded by loving family.

He was born in Vinton, Ohio, on February 5, 1919, and lived there until he enlisted in the US Army in WWII and proudly served as a motor mechanic attached to a signal corps in North Africa and Europe. Upon returning to Drew Field in Tampa, he married the love of his life, Colleen Williams, and they were about to celebrate their 67th anniversary. Over the years, they lived in Vinton, Ohio, Tampa, Ruskin and most recently Land O’ Lakes, Florida. He was a cattle rancher and auctioneer at livestock markets throughout central Florida.

He is predeceased by his parents, Clayte and Grace Edmiston; brother, Dr. Phillip Edmiston, and children, Charles Clayton, Cathy Eileen and Norton Patten. He is survived by his wife, Colleen; children, Lisa Edmiston, Susan Juarez (Richard); granddaughter, Kelley Cutillo; sister, Mary Lanier of Vinton, Ohio, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The Episcopal Eucharistic Burial Service was held on Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at St. John the Divine Church in Ruskin, Florida.

Friends may call at the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Vinton Chapel, from 11-11:45 a.m., Saturday, October 20, 2012. A brief Chapel Service and burial in Vinton Memorial Park will follow. Graveside rites will be conducted by the Vinton American Legion Post 161.
