BIDWELL — Tammi Brabham is one Gallia Countian who’s solidly committed to the growth of the area.
“You couldn’t drag me out of here unless you shot me first,” Brabham said only half jokingly Monday during the groundbreaking for her latest venture, an expansion of Bidwell-based Red’s Rollen Garage. “I was born here, raised here. I’ve lived away from Gallia County a year in my entire life, and there’s no place I would rather be and see grow. Like my sign says, ‘We’re growing Gallia County.’”
The new venture is located at 1701 Kerr Road, adjacent to the Ohio 850 exit of U.S. 35. Brabham said the new facility will be a 23,000-square foot structure with six truck bays initially and an anticipated expansion of six to 10 more within the next three to five years. Truck service and retail truck parts sales will be offered in partnership with FleetPride Heavy Duty.
“We should see foundations going in in the next week or two and a shell up hopefully by the end of November, first of December,” Brabham said. “They tell me it should be done in six to eight months. Once we get that shell up we’ll be able to work inside.”
Brabham said that while the new facility will serve the needs of local trucking companies, she also hopes to draw in truckers passing by the Ohio 850 exit on U.S. 35.
“I think we’re going to see — in the next 10 years — tremendous growth in this area, within a couple mile radius,” she said.
During the groundbreaking ceremony, Brabham thanked her son, Tim, and her daughter, Samantha, who serve as the management and project team for the family business. She also thanked her staff and employees at Red’s.
Additionally, Brabham expressed gratitude to various business and development leaders in Gallia County for their support and also thanked state officials who have played a role in making this new venture a reality.
Brabham’s family has owned and operated Red’s Rollen Garage for nearly 30 years.
