Billie J. Marcum, 76, of Thurman, Ohio, passed away at his residence on Christmas Day, December 25, 2012, surrounded by his family. He was retired owner/operator of Marcum Trucking and Sons of Thurman, Ohio.

He was born, September 26, 1936, in Logan, W.Va., son of the late Hollie Marcum and Lola Chapman Marcum. He married Ruby Webb on June 2, 1956, in Richmond, Indiana, and she survives with two sons, Kevin (Judy) Marcum, Vinton, OH and Darrell (Barbara) Marcum, Thurman, OH; and eight grandchildren, Kara (Todd) Ragan, and Robin (James) Gruber of Bidwell, OH, Erin (James) McMillin, Vinton, OH, Christiana Likens, Gallipolis Ferry, W.Va., Kevin Williams, Gallipolis, OH, Hana Marcum Thurman, OH, Brad (Crystal) Marcum, Gallipolis, OH, and Jennifer Bias, New Haven, W.Va.

Also surviving are nineteen great-grandchildren, four brothers and three sisters: Ron Marcum, Darrell Marcum, and Hollie (Marg) Marcum, of Vinton, OH, David (Sandy) Marcum and Mary Block of Bidwell, OH, Sarah (Don) Israel of Vinton, OH, Donna Affolter, Thurman, OH, and sisters-in-law, Carolyn Marcum, Jackson, OH and Sharon Marcum of Vinton, OH.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two children, Michael Dale Marcum and Patricia Jean Marcum; brothers, Ishmael, Harold and Sherman Marcum and an infant brother, Jimmy Marcum; a sister, Imogene Marcum; and sisters-in-law, Shirley and Emily Marcum.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, December 29, 2012, in the Harvestime Worship Center, Main Street, Vinton, Ohio, with Pastor Ron Massie and Pastor David Marcum officiating. Burial will follow in the Pendleton-Marcum Cemetery near Vinton.

Friends may call at the Harvestime Worship Center on Friday, from 4-8 p.m.
