Sammy M. Lopez became the publisher of its Ohio Valley Publishing Co. operation, which prints the Gallipolis Daily Tribune, Point Pleasant Register, The Daily Sentinel and Sunday Times-Sentinel in January of 2010.
Lopez comes to the tri-county area from Farmington, N. M ., where he served as publisher of The Daily Times, the largest and most influential newspaper in the Four Corners region of New Mexico, Colorado, Arizona and Utah.
Lopez has enjoyed a long, successful history in the newspaper business. He was publisher of the Las Cruces (N. M.) Sun-News (2003-2004) and Current-Argus (1995-2003) in Carlsbad, N. M. He was publisher and group manager for World West Ltd. Liability Co. and Raljon Publishing (1990-1995), a position that involved supervision of eight newspapers in three states.
During his career, Lopez has won a variety of awards for his personal advertising and journalism expertise and many of the newspapers he has managed have been award-winning publications. In 2008, he was named the recipient of the William S. Dixon First Amendment Freedom Award, which is sponsored by the Foundation for Open Government.
He is a former president of the New Mexico Press Association (1984), past president of the Taos Rotary Club (1985), a Paul Harris Fellow and a member of the Gallipolis Rotary Club.

Stephanie M. Filson was named managing editor of Heartland's three regional newspapers in Pomeroy, Gallipolis and Point Pleasant in June of 2011.
A Meigs County native, she began her career at the Jackson (Ohio) Journal-Herald while completing her bachelor's degree in communications at the University of Rio Grande. She then accepted a position with Ohio Valley Publishing and the Gallipolis Daily Tribune as a reporter, page designer and then assignment editor.
In 2001, Filson joined the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) District 10 as the public information officer for the department's nine-county region which includes Meigs and Gallia Counties and continued in this capacity until 2008, at which time she accepted a position as the executive director of the Jackson County (Ohio) Economic Development Board (JCEDB).
Over the past two years, Filson has split her time between her family's small business and the completion of the Master of Public Administration (MPA) program at Ohio University. "I am thrilled to have been chosen for this exciting and challenging role," said Filson . "I have lived and worked in southern Ohio my whole life and have enjoyed positions that have allowed me to represent and advocate for the people of this region."

Greg Weatherbee joined the staff of Ohio Valley Publishing in November 2010 to oversee all aspects of production for Heartland Publication's regional production facility in Gallipolis.
Weatherbee, a 25-year veteran of newspaper production, is an Alabama native and spent the last 10 years in North Carolina before making the move to Southern Ohio.
Born into the newspaper business, Weatherbee is the third generation of a newspaper family who owned a small newspaper in Alabama for almost 60 years.
After high school graduation, Weatherbee attended Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, AL, and later joined the US Air Force. After spending more than three years in Okinawa, Japan, he returned to Alabama and began a career in printing with Sullivan Graphics, a large commercial printing company.
In 1995, Weatherbee returned to the family business, working as a news editor, photographer and general manager for The Piedmont Journal in Piedmont, AL. However, not being able to stay away from the roar of a running press and the smell of ink, he began working with The Anniston Star as a part-time press operator in 1997.
It wasn't long before The Anniston Star made Weatherbee a full-time offer and he accepted a position in the pressroom and began working with the family business on a part-time basis.
In 2000, Weatherbee accepted the position of pressroom manager with The Daily Dispatch, a newspaper owned by Paxton Media Group, in Henderson, NC. Five years later, Weatherbee was selected as the production director for The High Point Enterprise, a Paxton Media Group property in High Point, NC.
The Wilson Daily Times in Wilson, NC was the next stop on Weatherbee's journey. He served as pressroom manager for the family-owned paper until he accepted his current position with Ohio Valley Publishing.
"The unique challenge of operating a regional production hub was something I couldn't pass up," Weatherbee said. "Given my history, I have a strong commitment to small community newspapers and the role they play in the lives and businesses of small towns. Having been raised in a small town, I've had no trouble fitting in with the people and culture of Gallipolis."

David C. Killgallon became Circulation Manager of Ohio Valley Newspapers/Civitas Media, LLC on October 10, 2012. He is over the three regional newspapers in Gallipolis, Point Pleasant, and Pomeroy.
He is a native of Bryan, Ohio in the Northwestern part of the state. David received his Bachelor's Degree in History/Business from Hillsdale College in Hillsdale, MI. He also, played intercollegiate basketball from 1992'-1994' as well as intercollegiate tennis from 1992'-1994' at Hillsdale.
David began his career in the newspaper industry almost thirteen years ago at the Nashville Business Journal (6,000 circulation) as a Circulation/Marketing Assistant in Nashville, TN (2000). He then worked for GCA Publishing/The Green Hills News (25,000 circulation) as Circulation Manager/Advertising Rep (2001-2002). From there he went on to work for Gannett Company (2002-2003) as MTCN (Middle Tennessee Community Newspapers) (42,500 circulation at 8 papers) Circulation Manager over (8) newspapers in NW Nashville and enjoyed success during his tenure there.
David then moved back to Ohio from there and worked at Dix Communications/The Defiance Crescent-News (2004-2007) (18,000 circulation) as a District Sales Manager for three years gaining invaluable experience and enjoying a great deal of success. Furthermore, he moved on and took a position with the Main Street Media, LLC/The Wilson Post (2007-2009) as Circulation Director over (5) newspapers and enjoyed great success as well. From there he got an opportunity in Rocky Mount, NC at Cooke Communications/The Rocky Mount Telegram (2011) (15,000 circulation) and then moved back home to be closer to his children in Defiance, Ohio. David has been a Circulation Director/Manager at (4) different newspapers gaining invaluable experience in all facets of the newspaper industry over the last ten years.
Thus, David came to us here at Ohio Valley Newspapers/Civitas Media, LLC and has been tacking on an overhaul in the Circulation department with home delivery, carrier force, single copy, marketing/promotions, customer service, single copy accounting, and NIE.
