GALLIPOLIS — A Gallia County man who was charged with two counts of receiving stolen property after he was found in the possession of two stolen four-wheelers in 2011 recently pleaded guilty to community control violations and was sentenced to prison.

Aaron W. Dennison, 22, Bidwell, was sentenced last week in the Common Pleas Court of Gallia County to a total of 18 months of imprisonment for two counts of receiving stolen property after pleading guilty to multiple probation violations.

According to documents filed by Dennison’s probation officer, among the violations were allegations that Dennison had failed to make his monthly probation payment, failed to pay court costs, had failed to appear for all of his office visits and had failed to appear for drug testing on March 22 of this year.

In addition, prior to the filing of the violations in early April, Dennison reportedly admitted to his probation officer that he used heroin and he had been admitted to the Holzer Hospital ER for an infection in his arm that was a result of using needles.

Dennison was indicted on September 13, 2012, after investigation by the Gallia County Sheriff’s Office pointed to his involvement in the theft of two four-wheelers in August 2011.

According to the police report, after a tip as to the whereabouts of one of the stolen four-wheelers and other items taken from a residence on Arnold Drive in Bidwell on August 10, 2011, was received, a deputy traveled to an Ohio 141 residence on August 11 to investigate the residence of Justin P. McCoy, 22, where the four-wheeler was reportedly located.

After arriving on scene, the deputy reportedly observed two white four-wheelers located in an open shed by the residence, and, after knocking on the front door, the deputy reportedly heard two male voices inside the residence, however, no subjects would answer the door.

The second four-wheeler was also a stolen vehicle that was reportedly taken on August 8 or August 9, 2011, from a residence on Little Bullskin Road.

A search warrant was later obtained and the four-wheelers were positively identified and returned to the victims along with other items stolen from their homes.

The subjects were never found inside the residence and they were believed to have exited from the residence upon the arrival of the deputy and into a nearby wooded area, however, following an investigation, both Dennison and McCoy were indicted on charges relating to the incident.

McCoy pleaded guilty to two counts of receiving stolen property earlier this year and was sentenced to 24 months of community control as a result.

He was further ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $4,400 to the victims in this case.

Community control violations filed against McCoy were dismissed upon a motion by the State of Ohio in April of this year.

Dennison also pleaded guilty to two counts of receiving stolen property in January 2013, and, upon a recommendation of the victim, was also sentenced to 24 months of community control earlier this year. He was also ordered to pay restitution to the victims in the amount of $4,400.

Violations were filed in April, and, after pleading guilty to these violations during a hearing on Thursday, Dennison’s community control was revoked and he was sentenced to 18 months of imprisonment in the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction for receiving stolen property.

He was given credit for 109 days served.

MIDDLEPORT — A “Cafe Murder” a comedy/mystery where the audience gets to solve the crime, will be presented by the River City Players at 7 p.m. on Saturday in the Middleport Village Hall auditorium.

The RCP have assembled a comedic cast of veteran performers who Roger Gilmore describes as “having difficulty making it through the rehearsals because they are laughing to hard.”

“Café Murder” is a hilarious murder mystery-comedy for which the River City Players (RCP) Community Theater has assembled a killer (pun-intended) comedic cast. The cast list includes: Celia McCoy as an overbearing, hypochondriacal birthday girl, eldest of five sisters; Dixie Sayre her sister, an aging hippie, paranoid and quite inappropriate; Linda Warner, another sister who is a very proper conservative bank executive, intelligent, and sexually repressed; Jessica Holliday, another sister, self-absorbed, airhead “Valley Girl”; Janis Carnahan, the sister who is a long-haul trucker – rude, crude, and thinks she’s a dude; Gary Walker, a scattered, self-taught detective with a limited vocabulary; Mike Kennedy, an incompetent waiter; Tony Carnahan, a French chef for whom a great deal is lost in translation; and Roger Gilmore, a snooty maitre’d and owner of the restaurant. This talented group of RCP veterans promises to provide a real laugh riot, and you don’t want to miss the fun.

While this will not be a dinner theater presentation, appetizers and desserts will be served prior to and during the performance.
