GALLIPOLIS — Ohio Valley Christian School hope Gallia County residents will team up against cancer at 11:30 a.m. Saturdayas the school will host “Hoops for Healing” to raise money for the Gallia County Relay for Life Chapter.


All proceeds will benefit the Gallia County Chapter of the American Cancer Society.


Girls and boys will team up for a basketball game to entertain fans, cancer survivors and caregivers. In addition to the game, the school will conduct a silent auction in which people can bid on themed baskets and concessions items that will include pulled pork and cole slaw, hot dogs and sauce, chips, and homemade ice cream, cookies and pies.


All cancer survivors will receive a free sandwich at the concessions.


The school will donate 100 percent of the proceeds to the American Cancer Society. ACS provides cancer research, free educational materials, cancer support groups and financial programs to benefit cancer survivors and their caregivers.
